Fleet GPU ("we," "our," or "the app") is a monitoring tool for vast.ai GPU machines. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information.
TL;DR: We don't collect any personal information. Your API key stays on your device. We only use anonymous device tokens for notifications.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- vast.ai API Key: Stored securely on your device using iOS Keychain (Apple's most secure storage method). This key never leaves your device except when communicating directly with vast.ai's servers.
- Machine IDs: The IDs of your GPU machines are stored locally on your device and, if you enable notifications, on our notification server to send you alerts.
Automatically Collected Information
- Device Token: An anonymous identifier generated by Apple for push notifications. This cannot be linked to your identity or any personal information.
- Usage Data: We do NOT collect analytics, crash reports, usage statistics, or any tracking data.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- Email address
- Phone number
- Name or personal identifiers
- Location data
- Device information (beyond what's required for notifications)
- Analytics or usage patterns
- Third-party tracking data
How We Use Your Information
- API Key: Used solely to fetch your machine data from vast.ai. We never store, transmit, or share your API key with anyone.
- Device Token: Used only to send push notifications about your machines' status changes and temperature alerts.
- Machine IDs: Used to monitor your specific machines and send relevant notifications.
- No Tracking: We do not track, profile, or analyze your behavior in any way.
Data Storage
Local Storage (Your Device)
- API Key: Stored in iOS Keychain with end-to-end encryption
- Machine Data: Cached temporarily on your device for faster loading
- Statistics: Monthly statistics stored locally on your device
- Settings: App preferences stored locally
Notification Server
If you enable push notifications (Premium feature), our server stores:
- Anonymous device token (provided by Apple)
- Your machine IDs (to monitor status)
- Notification preferences (which alerts you want)
Important: This data is anonymous and cannot be linked to your identity.
No Cloud Storage
We do NOT store or backup your data in the cloud, databases, or any external storage beyond what's necessary for push notifications.
Third-Party Services
vast.ai
We fetch machine data directly from vast.ai using your API key. Your interactions with vast.ai are subject to their privacy policy and terms of service.
Apple Services
- Push Notification Service: For delivering notifications to your device
- App Store / StoreKit: For handling in-app purchases
- iOS Keychain: For secure storage of your API key
No Other Third Parties
We do NOT use:
- Analytics services (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
- Advertising networks
- Social media integrations
- Crash reporting tools
- Any other third-party tracking or data collection services
Data Sharing
We do NOT sell, trade, rent, or share your information with third parties. Period.
Your data is yours and yours alone. We will never:
- Sell your data to advertisers
- Share your data with data brokers
- Provide your information to third parties for marketing
- Use your data for any purpose other than providing the app's core functionality
Your Rights and Choices
Access and Control
- View Your Data: All your data is stored locally on your device and can be accessed through the app
- Delete Your Data: Log out of the app to remove all local data. Uninstall the app to permanently delete everything
- Revoke Access: Revoke or delete your vast.ai API key at any time through vast.ai's website
- Disable Notifications: Turn off notifications in Settings to stop server-side monitoring
Data Portability
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control and can export or transfer your data as needed.
Right to Be Forgotten
To delete all data associated with your usage:
- Open the app and go to Settings
- Tap "Logout" to remove local data
- If you had notifications enabled, tap "Unregister from Server"
- Uninstall the app to remove all traces
Security
We take security seriously and implement industry-standard practices:
- iOS Keychain: API keys stored using Apple's most secure storage system
- HTTPS/TLS: All network communications encrypted in transit
- Read-Only Access: We recommend using read-only API keys to limit potential exposure
- No Backend Database: We don't store user credentials or sensitive data on our servers
- Minimal Data Collection: We only collect what's absolutely necessary
Data Retention
- Local Data: Retained until you log out or uninstall the app
- Notification Server Data: Retained while notifications are enabled. Automatically deleted when you disable notifications or unregister
- Cache Data: Automatically expires and is refreshed periodically
Children's Privacy
Fleet GPU is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.
International Users
Fleet GPU is available worldwide. If you're using the app outside the United States, please note that your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States where our notification server is located. By using the app, you consent to this transfer.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we make changes:
- We'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
- Material changes will be communicated through the app or via email (if we have it)
- Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance
We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
